US Movie Name: Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea
Jap Movie Name: Pokémon Ranger & The Prince of the Sea Manafi
Events: Deep in the depths of the ocean lies a strange blue egg. The egg passes through a herd of Corsola. The many different water Pokémon such as Cloyster, Qwilfish, and Octillery watches the egg pass by. The egg is then trapped in a swarm of swimming Luvdisc. When the Luvdisc swim away, the egg bounces off the heads of a Horsea and Seadra and lands on the head of a Mantyke. Suddenly, a loud crash is heard, and the Pokémon swim away frightened. Several helicopters above the water sight the egg on their radar screen. A gigantic submarine is moving deep in the water. The submarine disrupts many of the Pokémon, forcing them to swim away. Inside the submarine are several people who also are detecting the egg on their radar. The leader tells his co-workers to retrieve the egg. A mechanical arm pops out of the submarine and captures the egg. The mechanical arm is then brought back into the submarine. The submarine surfaces the top of the water so that the helicopters can land safely.
A group of henchmen prepare the egg. When the leader walks in the room, he stares at the egg and realizes that it will fullfil his destiny. Suddenly, one of the leader's henchmen snatches the egg. The other henchmen begin to chase after the one who stole the egg. The person who stole the egg begins to make a getaway; however henchmen from both sides begin to corner him. A moving elevator rests beside the man who has the egg, and he hitches a ride. The man takes off his mask and reveals himself to be Jackie, a Pokémon ranger. When Jackie reaches the top, he kicks a guardrail to slow down the other men. Jackie takes out his phone and calls his partner. While he calls her, he runs into a nearby room and finds a bag laying around. He empties out the contents and places the egg inside the bag.
Suddenly, the henchmen gang surround Jackie. Jackie ends the call. He jumps on top of a counter and kicks the pots along the way. The pots land on the henchmens' heads. Then Jackie knocks over a sack of potatoes, and the henchmen trip on them. Jackie finds a staircase, runs up the stairs, and heads out the door. He finds himself on top of the submarine. The leader's henchmen find Jackie, and they begin to chase him again. Suddenly, the leader and more men come out from the the inside of the submarine. The leader sends out a Pinsir and Parasect. The leader tells Jackie to just give up, but Jackie refuses to do so. Jackie takes out his capture device and dodges the Pokémon's attacks. Jackie then runs to the edge of the submarine. He finds a swarm of Mantine swimming around and uses his capture device to capture one of them. The leader and his men corners Jackie. Before Jackie can get captured by the men, he runs off the side of the submarine and lands safely on Mantine. Pinsir fires a Hyper Beam, but the attack misses. Finally, Mantine uses Confuse Ray to confuse both Pinsir and Parasect. Jackie has completed his mission.

Ash and co. are walking on a road in search of a town. It is hot outside, and they are nearly exhausted. Unluckily for them, the Pokénav doesn't work, so they have to rely on Brock's map. Max asks May for some water since his throat is all dried up. May hands Max her water bottle and tells him not to drink all of it. Inside the water bottle were only two drops of water. Now they are gone, and May gets angry. Max tells his sister that there was hardly any water left, and May keeps on saying that he shouldn't have drank all of it. Ash looks at a distance and sees a huge water bubble. Ash and his friends run towards the source of the bubble. They see a girl practicing with her water Pokémon. The water bubbles are floating in the air, and the Pokémon are jumping from one bubble to the next.
Max runs down to the girl and asks if he can have some water. The girl tells Max that it is fine. Max dips his finger into one of the water bubbles. Before he can take a drink, a Gorebyss comes out and knocks Max to the ground. Ash, May, and Brock then walk down to the girl. They introduce themselves to her. Pikachu sees a Meditite and Medicham. They are the ones who are making the bubbles float in the air. A Poliwag uses Water Gun, and the Psychic Pokémon transform it into a water bubble but in the form of a Pikachu. Brock then takes a look around and realizes that the girl is in a group called the Marina Troupe. Brock also realizes that he is staring at the star performer, Hiromi. Brock takes out a handbook. Inside the handbook are pictures of Hiromi since Brock is a big fan of her. Brock begins to shake Hiromi's hand and asks if she would want to go on a date with him. Max immediately grabs Brock's ear and pulls him away.
An older man asks Hiromi who Ash and co. are. Hiromi tells her grandpa that they are lost. Two other people then come by Hiromi and her granpa. They are all family. The grandfather's name is Ship, the other man's name is Kai, and the woman's name is Minamo. Minamo is the mother of Hiromi. Ash and co. are invited back into their trailer. They all have a glass of refreshing, cold water. A Buizel is on the bed next to Max. Hiromi notices that Buizel has taken a liking towards Max. The other family members walk into the trailer. Buizel jumps on the top bunk of the bed. On the top bunk is an item. Buizel hits a switch and the egg that Jackie caught earlier appears. May notices it, but Kai pulls the drapes to prevent her from seeing it any longer. Ash wonders what kind of show they plan on performing.
The trailer is attached to an automobile and they begin moving to a different location. Meanwhile, Team Rocket is on their glider following Ash and co. When Ash and co. arrives, Hiromi and her family perform a great water show in front of many people. The water show includes diving into the water bubbles and other unique tricks. A Politoed who is inside a bubble takes Pikachu in with it. Four other bubbles enclose Ash and co. in them. All the bubbles are then combined into one gigantic bubble. When the bubble pops, a big splash occurs and a rainbow is formed. The show comes to an end.
Buizel has the item from before in its hands. It is about to fall out of the trailer, but May catches Buizel and the item. The switch is turned on, and the egg appears. Team Rocket is up above on a roof. James peers in his binoculars and wonders what May is holding. Another person, who is dressed up as a clown, takes the item from May and turns it off. He then gives it to Hiromi. Ship asks Ash and co. if they would like a ride to the next town. Ash and co. are delighted and accept the offer. Meanwhile, James is looking through the Team Rocket newsletter. He finds the egg in the newsletter. The leader named Phantom is offering a reward to anyone who has any information about it. Jessie thinks that the item Phantom is after for what may be a valuable treasure. James gives Phantom a call on a phone and tells him that he has information about the treasure. Then James hangs up and runs after Jessie and Meowth.
Hiromi places the item in a secret place and covers it up with a drape. At night when everyone is asleep, Buizel wakes up and walks towards the drape. It goes behind the drape and switches on the item. The light reveals the egg once again. The egg glows a bright red. May, who is sleeping, begins to see herself with a bunch of water Pokémon in water that glows a pinkish color. A Pokémon named Manaphy begins to swim at May's side. Manaphy begins to disappear, and May wakes up from her dream. Hiromi greets May. Brock and Ship are preparing breakfast, and Ash and Max are washing up in a river. Brock finishes setting up the table with freshly-cooked pizza. When everyone is outside, Team Rocket sneaks inside the trailer in search for the item that contains the egg.
At breakfast, May tells everyone the dream she had. She had seen a strange Pokémon that was headed towards a temple in the sea. Ship says that strange things happen all the time. Mirnamo asks May if she has heard about the Water Folk. Hirmoi tells May that she also has had the same dream. Mirnamo explains that the family are descendants from a tribe known as the Water Folk.
Jessie has finally found the treasure. Jessie, James, and Meowth all place their hands on the treasure. The egg begins to glow bright red again, and their voices are transferred to the person that is to the left. Jessie has James's voice, Meowth has Jessie's voice, and James has Meowth's voice. After breakfast, Ash and co. take a walk back to the trailer. Ship explains that the Water Folk lived with many water Pokémon while traveling the seas. To honor the water Pokémon, the Water Folk built a temple, which is the same temple May had in her dream. Ash wonders why May had that dream. Max wonders if May may be a descendant from the Water Folk, which would make him a descendant too.
Suddenly, Ash and co. see Team Rocket on top of the trailer. Team Rocket tries to say their motto, but because their voices have been switched, the motto becomes confusing. They decide to run off with the treasure. The person in the clown outfit and Ash run after Team Rocket. Team Rocket takes off in their glider. Ash tells Pikachu to use Thunderbolt, but the other person tells Pikachu not to attack since something is important in the case, and it cannot be damaged. He sees a Fearow resting on the branch of a tree. The person takes out a capture device and captures the Fearow. The Fearow swoops around in the air, and Pikachu jumps on top of the Fearow. Fearow brings Pikachu to Team Rocket. Sparks come out of Pikachu's cheeks. Instead of shocking Team Rocket, Pikachu grabs the treasure from Jessie and jumps on top of Fearow. Then Fearow uses Peck and bursts the balloon on top of the glider. Team Rocket blasts away.
Ash and co. realize that the person is a Pokémon ranger. The person takes off his clown outfit and reveals himself as Jackie. Jackie tells them that he is on a mission, and the Marina Troupe is assisting him. Jackie takes the treasure and switches on the light. The egg appears again. Jackie tells Ash and co. that it is a Manaphy egg. Max says that Manaphy usually appear in the sea, and they are extremely rare. Ship tells Max that he is correct. Jackie's job is to hatch the Manaphy egg and get it to the Acquscia, the temple. May believes that she saw Manaphy in her dream.
Suddenly, three helicopters approach Ash and co. Inside one of the helicopters is Phantom. He sends out two Beedrill. Jackie orders everyone to get back inside the trailer. They all run as the Beedrill fire their Pin Missiles. While running, they come to two paths. Ash and Jackie take one path, while the others take the second path. The Beedrill begin to attack Ship, but Ship uses his board to block their attacks. Phantom and his assistant jump out of the helicopter. They corner Ash and Jackie. Jackie covers the case with a cloth, and him and Ash run behind a rock. Jackie comes out with the cloth still in his hand. Phantom chases after Jackie. Phantom doesn't know that Jackie gave Ash the case while they hid behind the rock. When Phantom takes the cloth from Jackie, two juggling balls appear. Jackie throws the balls at Phantom, leaving a mark on his face. Phantom gets mad at this, and he tries to grab onto Jackie. Jackie jumps on top of a rock. Phantom picks up the rock and throws it, and Jackie jumps off it just in time.
Ash catches up with May and Max. Phantom's assistant meets up with them. He tells Beedrill to use Pin Missile. Pikachu counters with Thunderbolt. Ash runs away in another direction. Beedrill uses Sludge Bomb which causes the egg to fly out of Ash's arms. May catches it. Ash tells her to run away since it's the egg that the Phantom and his assistant are after for. While May and Max are running away, Pikachu uses Volt Tackle on Beedrill to weaken it even more.
The egg suddenly begins to glow again. Phantom walks up to them and traps them against a wall. He orders May to give him the egg, but May refuses. Phantom is just about to take the egg when Max gets on top of him and stretches his face. Phantom still continues to grab on the case. The case opens and the egg flies out of it. May catches the egg in time right before it hits the ground. Ash and Jackie walk back to them. Jackie tells May to give him the egg, but Phantom tramples over Jackie which causes Ash and Max to trample Phantom. May holds the egg as it begins to hatch into Manaphy. Manaphy opens its eyes and stares at May's face. It begins to cry, and May tries to calm it down. Ash and co. sigh at the fact that everything went well. Jackie tells everyone to head back into the trailer. Phantom begins to chase them, but Jackie pulls on Phantom's shirt and pushes him into his assistant.
Manaphy continues to cry in the trailer. May finally is able to get Manaphy to calm down and it smiles. When Manaphy begins to sleep, Hiromi tells May that she will take over. May gives Manaphy to Hiromi, and Manaphy begins to cry again. Hiromi thinks that Manaphy prefers to be left with May, and so she gives Manaphy back to May. Brock states that some Pokémon only trust the first thing they see when they hatch. Suddenly, Pikachu senses something. It goes on the bed and points up. Ash opens up the small door that leads to the roof and sees that the helicopters are following them. Phantom orders his co-workers to not let the trailer get away. Two wires with metal claws at the end are fired from the helicopters and attached to the roof of the trailer. Ship orders everyone to get to the front car. When everyone is at the front car, Ship detaches the trailer from the car. The trailer rolls down the cliff, and they lose sight of the helicopters.
Team Rocket has blasted to a faraway place on top of a house. They each had a dream about how their voices had been switched, but they realize that it wasn't a dream. They notice that Wobbuffet and Mime Jr are out of their Pokéballs. Down below, they see Ash and co. approaching their location. Jessie and James return their Pokémon and think of a plan. Ash and co. move out of the trailer and into the house. Phantom's troop begins to approach the house too. They also go in the house. Ash and co. come across a dead end. Ship uses an object to open up a hidden passage. They begin to enter the secret passage. Phantom and his troop comes across the same dead end too. Phantom uses his object to open up the passage. Phantom and his troop face ruins left by the Water Folk.
Meanwhile, Ash and co. are swimming in the water with their water Pokémon. They enter a large room. In the room are large paintings. May notices the temple from her dream. Hiromi explains that Acquscia holds a treasure known as the Sea Crown. Ship adds in that many thieves tried to steal it, so the Water Folk added some kind of protection. Kai explains that the temple cannot be seen by any human eyes, and it changes color to match the ocean that is around it. Because the temple is in the sea, it is nearly impossible to find it. Ship says that during lunar eclipses, the temple can be seen by human eyes, and many people honor the water Pokémon in festivals. Manaphy is able to locate the temple since the temple was first built in Manaphy's home. Even newborn Manaphy have the ability to locate the temple. Phantom wanted Manaphy so that he could find the temple and steal the Sea Crown.
Phantom and his crew have walked out of the house. Phantom orders apart of his crew to search the trailer car. He sees Team Rocket cleaning his helicopter. Team Rocket runs over to Phantom. James introduces himself to Phantom as the person who contacted him with information about the egg. Phantom tells them that they will get their reward. Team Rocket asks Phantom if they can join his crew, and Phantom lets them join. Inside the helicopter, Phantom's assistant points out all the the paths that were left by the Water Folk on his computer. Phantom has a plan to get the Sea Crown. Team Rocket has overheard their conversation about the Sea Crown and temple. Jessie smells more treasure waiting for them.
Ash and co. are now on a boat in a cave. Jackie thanks Ash and co. for helping him get so far with his mission. However, because Jackie doesn't want to cause any more trouble for Ash and co., he may decide to part ways with them. Ash and co. have left the cave, and they are now in a city. Ship's boat approaches. Ship tells his friends that he used to travel around the world in the boat, the Blue Lagoon. Hiromi, Kai, Minamo, Ship, and Jackie all board the ship. Ash and co. are left behind. Moments later, Manaphy begins to cry. Jackie can't calm Manaphy down. Ash and co. wish they could have gone on the trip too. The three men that were using the boat before tells them that adventure is a great thing, and that they should go if they want to go.
Ash and co. run towards the boat. Ash calls out to them to take him with. Manaphy uses an ability to switch the voices of Ash and Jackie. Jackie, in Ash's body, tells them to stop the boat. The boat is stopped and Ash and co. climb onboard. Ash and Jackie's voices are switched back. Jackie explains to them that Manaphy has an ability called Heart Swap. May learns that Manaphy is also called the Prince of the Sea. Manaphy doesn't want to be separated from May. It even says its first word, "Kamo."
The boat stops, and Kai tells May to release Manaphy into the ocean. Manaphy will then lead the way. May asks Manaphy if it wants to go into the ocean. Manaphy does, and it jumps into the water. They begin to follow Manaphy's course. Meanwhile, Ship leads the kids into a room. He tells them to go to the far end of the room. When they do, Ship presses a button and a submarine enclosure is pulled back allowing Ash and co. to see underneath the ocean. They can see lots of water Pokémon including Manaphy. Manaphy swims up to May. It begins to cry, but May calms Manaphy down. Manaphy then continues to lead them to the temple. At night, Ship and Kai watch the moon. Kai notices that a lunar eclipse will be coming soon. This will allow them to see the temple.
The next day, a balloon has been attached to the boat, and Jackie is on top of the balloon watching over things. He calls his partner and makes his daily report. Ash and co. have sent all their Pokémon out for some fresh air. Manaphy passes by several Wailmer and Wailord. The Wailord begin going in and out of the water. Everyone gazes at the beautiful site. Manaphy is on top of one of the Wailord. May waves at Manaphy, and Manaphy jumps into May's arms.
Ash and co. decide to stop for a rest. Max swims in the water with Buizel. May is busy caring for Manaphy. Ash is all wet in his bathing suit. He climbs up the ladder, and Jackie places a towel on top of his head. Ash asks Jackie why he became a Pokémon ranger. Jackie tells Ash that Pokémon once saved his life, and he tells a story about how a bunch of Pokémon saved his life from the freezing weather. Ash finds the story to be amazing. He decides to stand on the edge of the boat and then dive into the water. May, Manaphy, Pikachu, and Buizel meet up with Ash underwater. May swims with Manaphy, and Ash and Pikachu swim with Buizel. When May is about to run out of air, she signals Manaphy to head towards surface. Ash does the same. At night, May expresses her love towards Manaphy. She even teaches Manaphy another word: suki.
The very next day, Manaphy swims with a herd of Lapras. May hopes that nothing bad happens to Manaphy. Max thinks that May is being overprotective, and this gets May angry. During the day, Brock cooks something in the kitchen. Kai is steering the boat, and May is watching Manaphy jump up and down in the water. She then decides to go downstairs. On her way, she overhears Jackie and Ash talking. Jackie wants Ash to separate May and Manaphy because it will be hard for them to separate when the time comes. May walks in and tells Jackie that she will be alright. Jackie wants May to also consider Manaphy's feelings. May feels sad at the moment. She sees Manaphy's happy face again and then runs out of the room. Hiromi sees May sitting down on the floor. Hiromi heard what happened, and May cries because she wants to stay with Manaphy forever.
Phantom and his crew are following Ash and co. Phantom orders his crew not to do anything until they reach the temple. Team Rocket is busy cleaning the floors. They realize that they are getting closer to the temple, and they want to get their hands on the treasure first.
Late at night, Manaphy is sitting on a rock singing. Many water Pokémon crowd around Manaphy to hear it sing. May is happy for Manaphy. Hiromi walks up to May. She takes off her necklace and gives it to May. The necklace is a symbol of the Water Folk. May gratefully takes the necklace from Hiromi. The next day arrives shortly. A Mantine and Mantyke are seen splashing in the water. Ship takes a look at his radar screen and calculates that a lunar eclipse will be tonight. Kai asks Ship if they will be able to see it. Ship says that it all depends on Manaphy and the sea.
Ash calls out to Manaphy that it is lunch time. Manaphy emerges from the water. It sees Ash and Max but not May. Ash smiles and sends out all his Pokémon. Manaphy and Ash's Pokémon begin to play together. Swellow takes Manaphy for a ride in the air. Pikachu is swimming on Corphish's back, and Sceptile is jumping from rock to rock. Manaphy jumps off of Swellow and lands in the water next to Pikachu and Corphish. May watches Manaphy have fun from the boat. She takes out her bandana, but a gust of wind picks up and blows it away. The bandana sinks into the water and catches on a Sharpedo's fin. Manaphy spots this, and it begins to chase after May's bandana. The bandana falls off of Sharpedo's fin and lands on a Relicanth.
Corphish pops out of the water. It notices that no one is around it, so it heads back to the boat. Ash and co. realize that Manaphy hasn't returned. Worried, they all follow Ship down to a submarine that is stored in the boat. Ash and co. all pile inside the submarine, and they head down underwater to search for Manaphy. May thinks it's her fault that Manaphy disappeared, but Hiromi disagrees. Meanwhile, Phantom's crew has found out that the Ash and co. have left the boat. Phantom is happy by this and thinks of a plan. Manaphy continues to search for May's bandana. The bandana rests on top of a Cloyster's horn. A swarm of Chinchou pass by Manaphy. Manaphy finds the bandana and takes it.
May is hoping that Manaphy comes back. Some tears fall from her face. Suddenly, Pikachu spots Manaphy from a distance. Manaphy is carrying May's bandana, and it comes back to them. May is so happy that Manaphy has returned. Hiromi reports to Ship that Manaphy came back. Suddenly, the submarine gets caught in an ocean current. Hiromi has lost control of the submarine. The cable breaks, therefore Ship and the others can't communicate with Hiromi. Manaphy begins to head toward another direction. It signals Ash and co. to follow it. Hiromi is able to follow Manaphy. Manaphy has led them out of the current. The lunar eclipse is about to start. Ship notices that Ash and co. has escaped the current. He also sees that another submarine is heading after them. It is Phantom. Suddenly, the submarine that Ash and co. are in has vanished from view.
The lunar eclipse has begun and the temple can be seen. Jackie notices that Phantom has begun entering the temple. Ash and co. have also arrived at the temple. They get out of the submarine. Even though the temple is underwater, there is still air in it, making it possible for Ash and co. to breathe. May calls out for Manaphy. Manaphy hears May's voice, and it pops out of the water. Manaphy hands May her bandana, and they both hug each other. Ash and co. begin to look around. Many waterfalls are in the temple. Manaphy begins to sing, and the temple resonates with Manaphy's voice. Hiromi realizes that the temple is welcoming the Water Folk. A pathway opens.
Phantom has finally made it to the temple. He can't wait to get his hands on the Sea Crown. Phantom runs off to find it. Team Rocket has snuck in Phantom's submarine before it left. Team Rocket finally gets out of the submarine, hoping to find the treasure. Jackie is busy swimming deep in the water to find the temple. He takes out his capture device and captures a Mantyke to help him. Meanwhile, Manaphy is leading the way with Ash and co. following it. They run up a flight of stairs and walk over a small bridge. Then they come to a stone with the marking of the Sea Crown. Hiromi can't read what it says, but Ship may be able to read it.
Suddenly, Phantom begins to approach them. He thanks Ash and co. for leading him to the Sea Crown tablet. Hiromi tells Phantom that the Sea Crown belongs to the Water Folk and that he can't do anything. Phantom tells her that he has researched everything about the Water Folk, so he knows everything. Phantom begins reading the ancient text on the tablet. When he is finished reading it, he takes out his symbol of the Water Folk and holds it up to the tablet. The tablet glows, and Phantom unlocks the secret door. Another pathway is revealed, and everyone runs through it.
Minamo notices that the eclipse is coming to an end. The temple slowly disappears until it can't be seen anymore. Jackie unfortunately came too late. At the top lies the Sea Crown completely surrounded by water. Phantom assumes that he is the perfect man to take possession of the Sea Crown. Manaphy jumps out of May's arms, and it begins to swim around the Sea Crown. Phantom takes ahold of one part of the Sea Crown. Manaphy pulls on it too. Phantom successfully pulls the part out causing Manaphy to fall on the floor. Ash and co. wonder what Phantom is planning to do. Suddenly, the water that surrounded the Sea Crown drains out. More water is released from the openings. The force of the water causes Max to almost fall, but Hirmoi catches Max just in time. Hiromi tells everyone that they should head back to the submarine. Ash is angry at Phantom, but he too leaves. Along the way, they meet up with Jackie. Jackie tells them to get away from the temple because it is sinking. Jackie decides to take care of Phantom.
Jackie finds Phantom. He orders Phantom to place the gems back that were stolen from the Sea Crown. Phantom refuses to put the gems back. Jackie decides to do it himself. He quickly grabs the bag from Phantom and begins putting the gems back. Phantom tries to stop Jackie, but Jackie is too fast for Phantom. After placing about four gems back into their rightful place, Jackie is finally caught by Phantom. However, they both trip and fall from the floor and into a gigantic pool of water. The current washes them away in separate directions. Phantom is knocked into a pole, and he drops the gem that he was holding. The gem flows down a water stream. Phantom tries to grab it, but the gem flows down into a small tunnel preventing Phantom from grabbing it.
Hiromi, Max, and Brock have already gone inside the submarine. Ash and May are standing on the ground hoping that Jackie is okay. Hiromi tells them that they have to leave. Suddenly, Manaphy jumps out of May's arms, and it begins to move towards the inside of the temple. Ash and May follow Manaphy. Manaphy heads into a small opening and goes to the place whre they were before. Ash and May see the bag with the gems. May thinks that the temple will go back to normal if the gems are put back. Ash agrees, and him and May begin to put the gems back. When they are done, one slot remains. Ash and May realize that Phantom must've took the last gem.
Phantom looks up at the temple and sees that the temple is sinking badly. Team Rocket is walking in Phantom's submarine. Phantom sees this and he runs towards them. Before Team Rocket can close the door, Phantom reaches out and grabs on the edge of the door. Phantom's strength is greater, so he is able to pull Team Rocket out of the submarine. Unfortunately for them, a powerful current sweeps them all away. Jackie sees Phantom's submarine floating in the water. He jumps on top of it and heads inside. Phantom is holding on the back of his submarine. Hiromi, Max, and Brock are in their submarine. Hiromi hopes that Ash and May will be okay. Phantom detaches a torpedo from the submarine and uses it to escape.
Ash and May are trying to find a way out of the temple. The whole temple is being flooded with water. On their way, Ash finds the last gem. He picks it up. They come to a dead end. Ash, however, finds a life pod from Phantom's submarine. He tells May to go inside it. May does so, and Ash puts Pikachu inside the pod too. Then Ash closes it and locks it. Ash tells May that he is going to put the gem back. Ash then starts to run to the place where the Sea Crown is located. In order to get there, he has to swim in big water. Ash takes a deep breath begins to swim towards the Sea Crown. Unfortunately, he runs out of air and has to surface the water. When he does, water rushes down on him causing him to drop the gem. Ash doesn't want to give up. He takes a deep breath and swims down to recover the gem.
Jackie surfaces the water next to the boat. Ship tells Jackie that Ash and May are still trapped in the temple. Ash swims down to get the gem, but the gem is stuck in a crack. Ash is able to recover the gem, but his breath runs out again, and he loses consciousness, causing him to drop the gem again. May is getting real worried about Ash. Manaphy uses its Heart Swap ability so that Ash can hear the voices of May and Pikachu. May tells Ash not to give up. Ash hears May's voice, and he once again surfaces the water, takes a deep breath, and swims down to retrieve the gem. This time Ash is able to place the gem back into the spot on the Sea Crown.
Jackie is in the submarine with Hiromi, Max, and Brock. They see a lot of water Pokémon swimming towards the temple. Max notices that Kyogre is also with the water Pokémon. Even flying Pokémon from above the water come. The entire temple surfaces the water. Ship, Minamo, and Kai are able to see the temple. The entire temple has gone back to normal. May notices that it is safe, and she opens up the life pod. However, May doesn't see Ash anywhere. She begins to worry again. Phantom sees Manaphy. He snatches it and begins to escape with his jet torpedo. Phantom plans on using Manaphy to find the temple again.
Suddenly, a yellow light pops out of the water. Inside the yellow light is Ash. He plans on stopping Phantom. Ash chases after Phantom. Ship realizes that Ash has the power of the Sea Crown with him. Phantom tries to get away, but Ash always blocks off his path. Phantom then goes underwater, but he is soon slowed down by a bunch of water Pokémon. Phantom lands on Kyogre's back. Kyogre leaps out of the water, and Phantom lands in the air, giving Ash a chance to grab Manaphy. Ash grabs Manaphy and gets away. Phantom comes back, but this time he is in his much bigger submarine (the submarine Jackie was in at the beginning of the movie). The water Pokémon begin to ram the bottom of the submarine. Phantom's crew activates supersonic waves which confuse all the Pokémon. Suddenly, Manaphy jumps out of Ash's arms and unites the hearts of all the Pokémon. With that, all the Pokémon attack the submarine, causing major damage to it. Finally, Kyogre uses Hyper Beam on the submarine, blowing everything up. Phantom is stuck holding a large boulder which eventually crushes him.
Ash and co. return to the boat. They watch as the temple begins to sink down into the depths of the sea. They hope to see the temple again someday. Jackie calls his partner reporting that his mission is complete. Manaphy swims down to the boat. It lands in May's arms. May and Manaphy say their final goodbyes to each other, and then Manaphy leaves. Ash, Brock, and Max walk to May's side. They watch as Manaphy soon disappears into the sea.
