Events: Ash and company meet Mewtwo & Mew




The movie starts out with Mewtwo in a tank. Mewtwo wonders where he is and he sees scientists in a tank. The scientists sees that mewtwo's eyes are open and said that they have succeeded. They also want to run tests on him. This gets Mewtwo mad and breaks the tank with his psychic powers. Mewtwo also destroys the whole building and sets it on fire.

Giovanni lands on the island that Mewtwo burnt and says that he is impressed by Mewtwo's powers. Giovanni wants Mewtwo to go to his place and they will run a few tests on him. Mewtwo agrees and beats a lot of trainers and pokemon. Then Mewtwo asks what was his purpose. Giovanni says that his purpose was to obey humans and mewtwo gets mad. He takes off his armor and flies away.

Now the scene changes to Ash and his friends. Ash complains that he is so hungry and can't work. Then suddenly a trainer comes up and asks them if one of them is Ash Ketchum. Ash gets up and says that he is and the trainer challenges him to a battle. Ash gets up right away and agrees. First, Ash uses Bulbasaur and the trainer uses Donphan. Donphan starts out with a Rollout and Bulbasaur uses Solarbeam which defeats Donphan. The trainer calls back Donphan and then sends out Machamp. Ash chooses Squirtle next. Machamp uses a few punches and Squirtle uses Bubblebeam and takes out Machamp. Now the trainer is angry and sends out Venomoth, Pinsir, and Golem at the same time. Ash uses Pikachu's Thunder attack and fries them all. The trainer takes off and the food that Brock made was ready. Team Rocket spies on them with their binoculars and they complain that they are really hungry. Jessie offers to cook but Meowth remids her on how bad of a cook she is.

A Fearow is in the sky with a camera around its neck. The Fearow has been taking pictures of Ash's battle with that trainer. The pictures were sent to Mewtwo at his palace. Mewtwo then sends a Dragonite give Ash an invitation to a special event. Dragonite soars the skies and makes a "dirty" landing. Dragonite then gives Ash the invitation. The invitation contains a picture of a woman in a hologram and asks them if they are going to meet the greatest trainer in the world. Ash says that he is going and Dragonite flies off.

A storm arises as Ashand his friends head for the docks. They go into the place and they see a lot of trainers. Officer Jenny and another woman says that the ferry to New Island will be closed. Everyone groans and a guy named Fergus says that he has to get to New Island. Officer Jenny says that the Pokemon Center is closed because the Nurse Joy is missing. He heads outside and uses his Gyarados to cross the waters. Another girl uses Dewgong and a boy uses his Pidgeotto. Ash says that he has to get to the island and they see a few vikings that are willing to take them there. Ash and his friends get on the boat and they sail to New Island. Suddenly, a big wave comes crashing on them and they notice that the vikings are Team Rocket in disguise. Misty says that in order to make it, they have to go underwater. Ash agrees and they head underwater and use their pokemon to swim to New Islad. The storm then stops and they make it. When they head for the surface, they see the same woman that they did before in the hologram. Brock recognizes her to be the missing Nurse Joy and she gets confused. The woman takes them to a room where they meet the other trainers.

Then the woman introduces them to Mewtwo. She explains that he is the most powerful trainer and most powerful pokemon. Fergus says that a pokemon can't be a trainer. He uses his Gyarados and orders it to use Hyper Beam on Mewtwo. Mewtwo just deflects it back and sends Gyarados into the pool. Then Mewtwo releases the woman from is psychic control and it ends up to be Nurse Joy.

Next Team Rocket heads onboard and sees a little cavern. They go inside it and head inside a strange room full of pokemon. The pokemon are sleeping. Then Team Rocket sees a computer and turns it on. A robotic arm comes out of a machine and grabs Meowth. Meowth gets away but the machine takes 3 hairs from Meowth and makes a clone out of it.

Meanwhile, Mewtwo says that humans are enemies and Ash gets mad. He challenges Mewtwo to a battle and Mewtwo agrees to his challenge. Back in the room where Team Rocket is in, 3 of the clones wake up. The 3 clones are Venasaur, Charizard, and Blastoise. mewtwo transports the clones to the room that he is in. A boy says that he also has a Venasaur and takes Mewtwo on. His Venasaur (Brute Root) takes on the clone Venasaur. The clone Venausaur wins with a Vine Whip. Then the girl takes on Mewtwo with her Blastoise (Shell Shocker). Unfortunately, Mewtwo commands his Blastoise to use a Skull Bask which sends Shell Shocker flying. Ash then uses his own Charizard and tells it to use speed and not power. Charizard doesn't listen and takes on the cloned Charizard. Ash's Charizard uses a few Flamethrower attacks but misses. Mewtwo's Charizard slams Ash's Charizard to the ground and beats it. Mewtwo says that since he wins, he gets all of their pokemon. Black pokeballs surround Mewtwo and they fly at the other pokemon. The pokemon get captured except for Pikachu which tries to get away. Pikachu uses a few Thundershock attacks with kill the black pokeballs, but more appear. Ash runs after Pikachu. Pikachu finally gets caught and the ball goes into a hole. Ash dives into the hole before it closes and they meet with Team Rocket.

Team Rocket are naming all the pokemon that are coming through and they see Ash. Ash saves his pokemon and breaks the robot arm which saves the other pokemon. Ash reappears with all the pokemon. Ash gets angry and aims a punch at Mewtwo which fails. Ash aims a punch at it again and Mewtwo sends Ash flying against the wall. Before Ash hits the wall, a pink bubble appears and saves Ash. The pink bubble happens to be Mew. Mewtwo sees Mew and fires a ball of psychic energy and Mew. Mew dodges it and laughs. Mewtwo fires another ball at Mew but Mew just dodges it again. Mew starts to explain to Mewtwo that in order to settle this, the real and cloned pokemon should each fight one another without using their powers because the clones are stronger. Mewtwo agrees and the real and clone pokemon fight one another.

It gets really ugly when the pokemon try to kill one another. Nurse Joy comments on how fighting is wrong and everybody agrees. Meanwhile, Mewtwo and Mew are having their battle. Mew is surround by a pink bubble and Mewtwo is surrounded by a blue bubble. Ash thinks that this has to stop and runs right in the middle of the two. Ash collides into the big energy ball and falls to the ground. When everything clears, Ash is turned to stone. Soon Pikachu uses Thundershock to try to bring Ash to life, but it is no use. Then everybody starts to cry including the pokemon (both real and cloned) except for Mew and Mewtwo. They just stare at everyone. Suddenly, the pokemon tears brings Ash to life. Mewtwo now understands that pokemon and humans are equal. Mewtwo flies away with the clones and Mewtwo realizes that this will be better if it is forgotten. He erases everyone's memories of this place and leaves.

Ash, Misty, and Brock are back at the dock and it is still raining. Nurse Joy is back and is willing to provide rooms for people who need a place to stay. Then the storm clears up and Ash thinks that he saw a rare pokemon (Mew) beneath the clouds. Misty thinks that he is just seeing things.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket end up on an island. Of course, they don't remember anything either. They think that it is paradise and the movie ends.
